The account of the trial in 1688 of the Archbishop of Canterbury and six bishops for seditious libel following their petition to James 11 against his Declaration of Indulgence; they were acquitted. First issued ( different format) in 1689 Internally very good subject to one leaf having been damaged and repaired with binders tissue, no loss of text which remains legible, a few other leaves having chips with no loss of text. 20th century inscription ( neat hand) on verso of fep , signature ( old hand, unobtrusive) on title page . Binding firm - looks to have been rebound in second half of 19th cent in half leather on buckram (slight wear and a little fading to spine) , marbled endpapers , aeg
