About This Item

London: Bodley Head. Very Good in Very Good dust wrapper. 1984. First Edition. Hardcover. Profusely illustrated with photographs and contemporary b&w and colour illustrations. An interesting glimpse into the life of this very private author. She never gave an interview or made a public appearance. This book has extracts from her letters as well as from her books and material from her own research archives and publishers' archives. A rather scarce first edition.; Spine ends lightly bumped, vertical crease on spine does not damage binding, a few smudges on page edges, a few light creases to clean interior pages. Unclipped dust wrapper, sunned spine (seen frequently in this edition) lightly edgeworn, 1.25" closed tear near spine tail. Price in $s on bottom front flap indicates this copy was intended for Canadian or Australian export market. .
