[5], vi-xi, [2], 2-468 pp. Half later red sheep over marbled paper boards with the spine in six compartments, gilt lettering and gilt decorations on the spine; all edges speckled red. Later brown endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated with a frontispiece and with six plates. Lacks the map called for in the list of illustrations. Arctic Bibliography 10531. The plates are bright and beautiful and capture tender moments of daily life for the Inuit people of southern Baffin Island and the Melville Peninsula. An informative record of the second Parry expedition. The joints and corners of the binding quite rubbed, scattered, light pencil underlining in the text.
