It is the story of a dysfunctional family living in DeKalb County, Illinois. The novel explores the impact of history on contemporary life. Richard Powers is an American novelist who won the National Book Award for Fiction in 2006 for his novel 'The Echo Maker'. Some of his other novels include 'The Gold Bug Variations', 'Gain', 'Plowing the Dark', and 'The Time for our Singing'. In a navy cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Some light shelfwear to the boards. Dustwrapper is quite smart, though with some bumping, handling marks, small closed tears, and label to the rear. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages have some light marginal browning, and some instances of foxing. Very Good
