Philadelphia: University of Pennsylvania Press, 1940.. xi,[1],158pp. Gilt cloth. Plates. Some tanning to endsheet gutters, otherwise very good or better in modestly soiled and chipped dust jacket with a couple of internal mends. First edition. Published associated with the A.S.W. Rosenbach Fellowship in Bibliography. Accompanied by two a.l.s. and two t.l.s. by Winship, Providence and New York, 1909, three to John Cotton Dana, the latter as the first secretary of the Carteret Book Club, and one to club associate M.L. Gilson, discussing the club, its publications and various bibliographic matters. Also included is a R.S.V.P. signed by Winship (with regrets), 1911, responding to an invitation to visit a Type Foundry in Jersey City. Accompanied by three retained carbons of letters to Winship, presumably from Dana. The Carteret Book Club was founded in December 1908 at a meeting at the Newark Public Library.
