Original green cloth boards, with blind stamped designs on covers and gilt lettering on the spine. This is the seventh edition of Tennyson's "serio-comic blank verse narrative poem". "The poem tells the story of an heroic princess who forswears the world of men and founds a women's university where men are forbidden to enter." Publisher's advertisements dated "September 1856". Binding with light sunning to spine and along edges of covers. Bottom edge of back cover lightly bumped. Interior with minor water staining to the edge of the interior back cover and rear endpaper. Binding and interior in overall very good+ condition. A tight copy overall.
