Both volumes illustrated throughout the text by the author. Finely bound in contemporary half black calf. Spines with raised bands,red title labels, gilt. Compartments decorated in gilt.Black pebble grain cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. All edges dyed red. Small (1.5 inch) split to the top hinge of first volume but still holding firm. Some rubbing to edges but overall a very good set in attractive early bindings.:

One of 200 copies, from a total edition of 700 for England and America, on hand made paper and with the plates printed as proofs on Japanese Vellum. Each of these 200 special copies has an original print of the etching "The Lion and the Unicorn" , signed by Cameron, as the frontis and is numbered and initialed by the publishers. The etching was not issued separately. Illustrated throughout with 434 etchings, each with the original measurements, date of the plate, number printed and other general notes by Frank Rinder. Some occasasional light offsetting from the plates to the text pages opposite but generally it is faint where it occurs. Endpapers a bit browned but overall a very good clean and tidy copy in the publishers original delux binding of beige cloth on the boards with a white vellum spine, lettered and ruled in gilt. The colour illustrations, from Yeats' original oil paintings, include; The Farmer, Publican, Exile from Erin, Police Sergeant, Priest and Country shop assistants. Each plate with a tissue guard. Aside from just a few spots of very light foxing to a handful of of pages this is a very good and bright copy. Finely bound in recent full dark green morocco leather binding. Spine with five raised bands. Compartments ruled, decorated and lettered in gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed.

Published at The Hampshire House Workshops, Hampshire Hog Lane, Hammersmith, London. 1915. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (7.5 x 5.2 inches). Illustrated with 12 wood engravings. One of 1500 copies. Inscribed by Gill on the front free endpaper "Eric Gill for H. Davis, 22.3.28" A very good copy in original grey canvas spine, lettered in black, with red paper covered boards with black lettering and illustration to the front board. Some loss to the paper on the boards, affecting 7 letters of the address at the bottom. Spine with just a little darkening. Overall a very good copy. Uncommon inscribed by Gill. --Evan Gill. Four full page colour plates plus several mono illustrations throughout, some printed in black and some in blue, by Peter Scott. A fine and clean copy in a contemporary fine leather binding by Bayntun,of half red morocco. Spine with two raised bands, ruled in blind. Gilt lettering and twin goose designs, all in gilt. Red cloth on boards/ Mottled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Neat previous owner two line inscription, dated 1960, on the front blank free endpaper. A fine and attractive copy of this classic work.

Spine with raised bands, twin brown labels and compartments fully gilt. Red cloth on boards. Red marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Binding by Young and Sons of Liverpool. Aside from some minor rubbing to the edges this is a very good, clean copy of this classic, beautifully illustrated, edition in an attractive fine early binding.:

Each plate with the title printed below the border. 95 line illustrations throughout, some full page. Previous owners neat name on front blank endpaper otherwise a fine copy in original burgundy cloth with gilt illustrations and lettering to front board and spine. Front board with quadruple ruled black borders, spine ruled in gilt. In the scarce original publshers dustwrapper with colour illustration mounted onto the front panel, below black lettering and four line border. Flaps and other panels lettered in black. Original printed price (15/-) on spine has been blacked out neatly. Aside from a couple of tiny chips to the wrapper this is a beautiful fine example of this well produced edition. Scarce in this condition.:
