Collins Crime Club, 1968. First edition, first printing. 8vo. Green boards with gilt titles. Pictorial dustwrapper. A near fine copy with clean boards. A hint of spotting to topedge. No inscriptions. The very good+ dustwrapper is clean with some light edgewear & a few short closed tears. Not the usual priceclipped copy with original price of 21snet to front flap. On visiting Tommy's aunt in the nursing home, Tuppence encounters Mrs Lancaster who talks of "your poor child" and "behind the fireplace". Mrs Lancaster dies a few weeks later & leaves Tuppence a mysterious painting of a house that she appears to remember - what happens next involves a daring adventure of diamonds and death!
Synopsis
By The Pricking of My Thumbs is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie and first published in the UK by the Collins Crime Club in November 1968 and in the US by Dodd, Mead and Company later in the same year. The UK edition retailed at twenty-one shillings (21/-) and the US edition at $4.95. It features her detectives Tommy and Tuppence Beresford.
