About This Item

New York:: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich,, 1979.. First Printing of the First US Edition. A Near Fine tight copy iwith a remainder mark on the bottom edge in a Fine bright unclipped dust jacket. This book collects fifty previously uncollected short stories one of which has not been previously published. Written by Fitzgerald in the twenties and thirties, these stories were only published in popular large-circulation magazines of the day featuring Fitzgerald's elegant style of writing and sensuous storytelling. Typical of early Fitzgerald, some of these stories end with an ironic twist of fate, but his themes are timeless and could have been written yesterday.
