About This Item
New York: Chautauqua Press, 1889. Attractive but lightly stained book from 1889, bright rust colored cloth lettered and decorated in gilt and black, folding color frontis map of the Roman Empire, 498 pages plus publisher's ads. Very light old transparent stain to covers but darker stains to the outer margins of the final fifty pages or so, confined entirely to the margins and not affecting text. Little wear, good hinges, firm text block, pages otherwise very clean with a name on the front free endpaper. Publisher leaflet laid in loosely at the front.. Hard Cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
