About This Item
Oxford: Blackwell Scientific Publications, 1950. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Orange cloth with gilt spine lettering, 5 mm patch of cloth surface loss by lower front fore-edge of little consequence otherwise clean unworn, though spine lettering a tad dull. vii + 496, 6 text figs on 3 pages; main flaw is that end-gutter is a little shaky though split now closed with transparent archival tear repair tape, otherwise clean, tight and unmarked, though erased a few light pencil underlinings if any were missed they are easily dealt with, a few very faint tanning spots to end-papers, H.K.Lewis label bottom fr. paste-down which also has a couple of small brown marks by outer edge. Unclipped jacket generally clean, hint of rubbing and small closed nick to top spine (will add protective sleeve when ordered). A significant study of the now notorious lobotomy/ leucotomy technique but more cautious in its advocacy than Walter Freeman's gung-ho enthusiasm. (Lobotomy and leucotomy are synonyms.) Scarce.
