Red coloured boards with gilt facsimile author signature to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. A rejigging of the author's most famous work for young people. For, as the introduction page V says ''... The purpose of this book is a very direct and simple one: to help young people find themselves and keep happy and effective lives.'' Softening to the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Fading of the back strip with a few scrapes and marks to the book panels. Age toning and scattered foxing to the text block edges with age toning of the pages. Some handling marks to the end pages and the remains of original bookseller's sticker to be seen to the lower edge of the front paste-down.
