London: Faber and Faber Ltd., 1960. Book. Good. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. January 1960 reprint of the 1945 second edition (first edition published in 1940). Buff colour cloth with title in dark red on spine and front cover. Condition: Good, with light shelfwear to covers. Previous owners name neatly written at the top of the front endpaper. Some foxing to edges of textblock. Dustjacket condition: Fair to good, generally shelfworn, with some general light soiling to rear cover of jacket. Not price-clipped. 294pp. Four colour plates and many b/w illustrations. This book was the first treatise by a potter on the workshop traditions which were handed down by the Koreans and the Japanes from the greatest period of Chinese ceramics in the Sung dynasty. It deals with four types of pottery, Japanese raku, English slipware, stoneware and Oriental porcelain..
