pp. [4], 195, [1]. Full leather - well rubbed. Lower hinge of back cover repaired. Decorative metal clasps intact. Small chip in the margins of a couple pages. Bottom corner gone from margin on pp.152-153 (2nd part) - not effecting text. Part I. consists of a Norwegian translation of J. Arnt's Postille or Book of Sermons. Part II. Contains Arndt's Passion Sermons. Three nineteenth century Norwegian religious pamphlets (4 pp. each) loosely placed between the pages by a former owner. Two sheets of notes in an old hand are also inserted. Johann Arndt (1555-1621) was a German Lutheran theologian whose writings were influential with the Pietist movement.[EB11].
