About This Item

Hutchinson. London. 1971 1st edition.. Tall 8vo. In green cloth covers with gilt to spine. With dustwrapper. In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; Spine slightly faded with small chips at top. Creases to fly leaves. Top edge slightly creased. Not price clipped). Slight browning to endpapers. Owner's neat inscription on front endpaper. Else a clean and tight copy. 223pp. Modern first edition. There's this pollution research centre in remotest Scotland. John Carlyle is in charge of a straightforward, routine construction job. Routine? The corpses in the loch are a little out of the ordinary. Straighforward? Sheep dropping dead, gassed apparently. An entertaining, mystifying and fast-moving suspense story.
