A couple takes a trip to a small French fishing village to repair their relationship. Meanwhile, the village fishermen fight the government's recent ban on harvesting shellfish from a small, potentially toxic lagoon. A forerunner of the French New Wave, shot on a shoestring budget, and considered by French historian Georges Sadoul to be "the first film of the nouvelle vague."
