An attractive copy of this scarce collection of poems surrounding nature, with detailed vignettes throughout. The first edition of this scarce work. In the publisher's original blind stamped cloth binding.With an engraved illustrated frontispiece and fifty-five further engraved illustrations. Collated complete. A delightful collection of poems with nature at the forefront of each.Illustrated by Harrison Weir, known as "The Father of the Cat Fancy" who, as well as being a natural history artist, was best known for being organising and judging the first cat show at the Crystal Palace in 1871. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with scattered spotting, heaviest to the first and last few leaves. Very Good
