London: Adam and Charles Black, 1872. Leather. Good Only. 7.5"by 5". None. An illustrated edition of Scott's poetical works, with an author's portrait to frontispiece and a fold-out facsimile from the manuscript of Marmion. With a two colour decorative title page and a border to each page. With a large appendix with notes on the poems to rear. In a half leather binding with paper covered boards. Externally, generally sound but with bumping and wear to extremities and marks to boards. Front hinge failed with back strip lifting. Internally, with a library bookplate from Lewin's Mead Congregational Library, Bristol, to front pastedown. Generally firmly bound but with one section to front loosening. Bright but with tidemark to tail of frontispiece. With the odd spot to first and last few pages and the odd handling mark to pages. Good Only
