London: G. Routledge & Co, 1857. Hardcover. Very Good. Fourth edition. 12mo. viii, 456pp., engraved frontispiece and 7 additional plates designed by Birket Foster and engraved by the Brothers Dalziel. Contemporary full gilt decorated leather with gilt turn-ins, all edges gilt. Binder's ticket: "Leighton Son and Hodge" on the rear pastedown. Rubbing to the joints and board edges, moderate foxing to the front fly leaves, frontispiece plate and tissue guard, very good. A handsome copy with fine clean impressions of Foster's illustrated plates.
