London: J. Johnson By T. Bensley, 1800. New edition, 1800. Attractive two-volume set of Cowper's poems, illustrated with engravings. Full diced calf sympathetically rebacked in calf with dual spine labels in black and gilt, xvi, 430 + vi, [2], 420 pages. Extremities rubbed, some crackling along edges of original covers, some light chipping to spine ends and around the edges of the spine labels, vertical surface crack to the spine of volume II, joints/hinges good, text blocks sound, pages clean with some minor offsetting of the plates onto the text pages opposite, a bit of foxing to the margins of some plates, pages very clean and free from names or other markings. . Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
