Overall a very good and unique copy with letter from Lowell to regarding decisions about the book to publisher and future mayor of Cambridge, Henry Loughton sewn inside ffep. A New Edition (with many new poems)" 206 pp. [ii additional leaves as folded letter]. 8vo. With a tipped-in ANS by Lowell, dated Sept. 23, 1858, to Messrs. H.O. Houghton, addressing aspects of the publishing and printing of his books, Octavo sheet, folded, 3 pp. Robert Traill Spence Lowell (1816-1891) was the son of Charles Russell Lowell, Sr., the brother of James Russell Lowell, and the namesake of the confessional poet Robert (Traill Spence) Lowell (IV).
