About This Item
New York: John W. Lowell Company, n.y.. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Olive green cloth over bevelled boards with gilt lettering and elaborate brown and black decorative stamping. xxvi, 529pp. All edges gilt. Tissue-guarded frontispiece, red-ruled pages, full-page illustrations, decorative endpapers. Very good. Faintest of edgewear only; ownership name/city on inner flyleaf. A wonderfully tight and bright undated (but likely 1880s) edition, with John Aiken's "Critical Dissertation on His Poetry" and Henry T. Tuckerman's introductory essay. Really lovely copy.
