London: A Ward, 1778. Leather. Good. 7.5" by 5". None. A collection of Thomas Gray's poetry. With memoirs of Gray's life and writings written by W Mason. With a portrait frontispiece of Gray to volume I. Thomas Gray was an English poet, letter-writer and classical scholar. His best known work is his Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard. In quarter calf bindings with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the spine labels. Small amount of rubbing to the paper covered boards. Internalyl, all volumes are firmly bound. Title page to volume IV has signs of repair at bottom. Pages are slightly age toned with the odd spot throughout. Worming to the top margin of volume II for the last 50 pages, not affecting text. Worming to the bottom margins of the contents pages and to the final forty pages of volume four, not affecting text.
