Dublin: William Sleater, 1775. Hardcover. Good. Small 8vo, original calf binding, red leather label with titles on spine. Worn at edges, small piece missing at base of spine. 197pp, also included is ”The Bard" and 2 Latin, one Italian translations as detailed below, (all not included in pagination). The "Advertisement" following the contents page states, "At the desire of some Gentlemen, for whose Taste and Judgment the Editor hath the greatest Respect, he has added to this Edition of Mr. Gray's Poems two Latin Translations of the celebrated Elegy written in a Country Church-Yard, with a poetical Address to the Author; one by the Rev. Mr. Lloyd, the other by an anonymous Person; as also a Translation of the same into Italian: which, it is hoped, will not be unacceptable to the classical Reader.” Engraved title page, 3 other engravings and many ornaments throughout text, Generally lovely and clean inside and very good. Ex reference library with number on spine & reverse of title page, pictorial & presentation bookplate on front pastedown and endpaper, single stamp on front and rear endpaper, first and last page, reverse of frontis. Blind stamp on title page and one other.
