Warmly inscribed by the author and signed "Max." xv, 249 pp. Head and heel of spine and lower edge of front board lightly bumped, small faint stain on front board, page edges tanned, top edge very lightly foxed. Jacket present but worn, soiled, chipped and torn, with insect damage in several places. Later printing.
