Three-color illustrated stiff paper wrap, saddle stapled. Light scuffs, edges rubbed and minimally age toned, staples oxidized. Fountain pen annotation inside front cover. Laid in magazine clipping "Storms over Okinawa" dated 1-4-45. Orientation for American troops stationed on the Free French island that "few Americans have been to, and few know anything about." An introduction outlines its historical background and strategic importance, followed by chapters on Our Allies, Getting Along, The French Australia, and Speaking French. A charming memento of the South Seas during WWII.
