About This Item

Robert Hale & Company, London, 1970. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. Secondhand copy, the top edge of the dust jacket is quite chipped and worn, as can be seen in the image, there is no damage to the book apart from previous owners name, top the text block tinted by the publisher. In this book the author reconstructs the history of the whole Jamestown world, and the English and Indian world from which it grew. The miracle of the survival of that world, that kernel or germ of English America, was of John Smith's and Pocahontas' making, and of Argall's and of Rolfe's. Their lives were so intermingled that no one of them can be understood without reference to the other three. And with any one of them lacking, it is hard to conceive of English America at all. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Dust Jacket price-clipped. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Biography & Autobiography; North American Indian; North American; 16th century; Sociology & Culture. ISBN: 0709121881. ISBN/EAN: 9780709121886. Inventory No: 0281871. . 9780709121886
