About This Item

1925. BENCHLEY, Robert. PLUCK AND LUCK. With illustrations by Gluyas Williams. New York: Henry Holt and Company, (1925). First edition. viii,295 pp. 8vo., orange cloth, lettered in black to spine and upper board, with vignette illustration printed in black and yellow to upper board, top-edge stained olive green. Ink ownership to ffep. This is a clean and bright copy overall, just about fine. In a dust jacket which is moderately edgeworn, having a few short closed-tears and shallow loss at crown. The dust jacket, which is printed to all sides with type in red and illustrations in green, is sunned at the spine; as a result of this, the illustrated figure of a dapper gent in top hat and tails (printed in green) is a mere ghost of an image, while the title and publisher's name (printed in red) are very legible. This title is quite scarce in the dust jacket.
