Each volume contains 160 pages, plus some 60,000 words of text and over 200 historical photos, many published for the first time.About the Author: Art Downs (192496) was a writer, editor, historian, and pioneer of BC book and magazine publishing. Born in England, he moved to Saskatchewan as a young child and later settled in Quesnel, BC. He became owner of the Cariboo Digest/i>, which evolved into BC Outdoors, a successful magazine about BC history, wildlife, and conservation. In 1979, Art and his wife, Doris, established Heritage House Publishing. He died in Surrey, BC, in 1996.
