About This Item

A fine University Press publication. Hardcover is as new. Text is clean and unmarked. No yellowing of pages. Corners tight and square, no corner bumping.
Previous owner's name on top of front free endpaper and on back free endpaper. Dust Jacket has very minor wear along margins and bottom and top of spine. The book creates a vivid portrait of ranchers, cowboys and Native Americans in the West of 1886. The story is centered on the Circle C Ranch in the pioneer days of cattlemen in Montana. The book has many photos and a fold out plate of Charles M. Russell's 'Roping a Calf' depicting the two sons and their cattle. Russell was a visitor to the ranch.
