In very good green cloth boards, with gilt decorated churches and title field to front and spine cloth with dark brown and green titles. The covers are a little wobbly from slight damage to hinge, clean; corners and spine cloth ends slightly bumped and frayed. Overall very sound for age. Blotchy tanning to the brown patterned end papers.Unmarked gilt cut edges. The text block is printed in two columns; tightly bound, square and (apart from the end paper and Prelims) not tanned or foxed. With lovely photogravures and 140 wood engravings. Inscription on a Prelim. Heavy.
