About This Item
Bible Corporation of America, 1926-01-01. Hardcover. Good. 0x0x0. Subtitle continued: "with Marginal References Maps and Numerous Helps : 583 Explanatory Illustrations including 16 Color Plates of the Famous Paintings by Tissot Containing the OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS King James Version Translated Out of the Original Tongues and with Former Translation Diligently Compared and Revised." Series statement in gilt on front of bonded leather boards: "Bethlehem Bibles." All edges gilt. Gutters are cracked and front board, which has still clear gilt lettering, is partially detached and there is much scuffing and edge wear. Gilt lettering on spine clear and bright. Attempts to reinforce an upper corner as well as the crown and foot of spine with black tape have been efficient but unsightly. However, the paper within is clean, unmarked anywhere, and only mildly age-toned. The only pages that show serious wear are the front end page and the blank presentation page, which have what looks like biopredation on for edges. The culprits did not have the trepidation to attack any sacred scripture. This treasure is a perfect candidate for rebinding.
