WORLD WAR 2 ORIGINAL PHOTO ALBUM OF PEOPLE & PLACES IN . . . ASSAM, INDIA & MANDALAY BURMA . . . TAKEN BY A MEMBER FO THE 48TH AIR DEPOT GROUP . * First located at Mooklbari, India (1944), 48th Assam Air Depot member took these photos. While his name is absent, this was part of two items which came from the same person and amateur photographer. . *** A.A.C. [ARMY AIR CORPS.]: . The Lineage of the Group: . The 48th Air Depot Group, Depot Repair Squadron, Depot Suppl Squadron authorized and constituted at Duncan Field, Texas per AG 320.2, 31 January, 1942; activated 13 March, 1942; Stationed at Duncan Field (combined with Kelly Field, 2 March, 1943), 13 March, 1942-15 June, 1943. . On 1 March,1945 the Assam Air Depot was designated as a subordinate command of the Northern Air Service Area Command and the 48 Air Depot Group was assigned to the Assam Air Depot. Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, at Chabua, India. . 4th Medical Platoon (Supply, Avn) 26th Depot Supply Squadron (transferred from 26th ADG c.late 1944) Organized 20 January, 1942, Brookley Field, Mobile, Alabama. Initial overseas station, Deversoir, Egypt Nov. 42 Change of station to Chabua, Assam, India (Hazelbank tea plantation), 18 March, 1944, relocated to Panagarh, India, November, 1945. The album is covered in faux pebbled black leather, with usual wear to the corners, edges and spine head/tail. . The contents consists of green stiff paper with slotted pages, all very brightly clean and solidly bound. . *** Color photos are posted to our website. The photos were gently removed from the album to take photos. All photos are loosely inserted into the album. . *** CONDITION OF PHOTOS: .
