Stated first edition of the 2-volume set in gilt-stamped green cloth covers lightly spotted (minor) ; spines age-darkened with color loss of lettering. Top edges gilt. Both volumes tight in bindings; hinges sound. No internal markings, although Volume II shows uneven browning on title page due to laid-in material (now removed) . Scattered foxing present in both volumes. Despite stated defects, this is a quite nice set. ; .
