John E. Potter, 1860. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Wear to head and foot of spine and corners (fraying, rubbing and bumping); slight scuffing, rubbing and browning to covers (cloth; chiefly to edges); slight shaking to few signatures; slight internal browning and/or foxing (chiefly to edges and preliminaries). 232 pages. Probable later issue of the gift book, containing 33 prose and verse pieces in all (notably 'Little Goody Two Shoes' and 'The Birds and the Beggar of Bagdat'). Uncredited editor/compiler; dated 1859 on title page verso. Still a fairly tight and reasonably clean copy internally.
