Corners bumped, light wear to head and tail of spine, cover bright. Some toning to endpapers, text clean and bright. Gift inscription [see below] inside front cover and small sticker from Paul Elder Books in San Francisco on rear inside board. Binding tight. No dust jacket. Note: First published by Liveright in 1926 as stated on the copyright page. According to Gallop's Bibliography of Ezra Pound [pg.40], in 1946 New Directions took over 465 copies and 525 sets of sheets of the sixth impression from Liveright, and the sheets, with a cancel title-leaf were bound up in red or blue cloth and a new dust jacket. This is one of the bindings from the sheets, with the cancel leaf. There is a gift inscription in ink on the front inside board which is dated September 1947. In 1949, New Directions came out with a 278 page new edition in which Pound added a number of poems from magazines and early volumes." [Gallup, pg. 41].
