Signed first printing of this mystery novel, with swords but no sorcery, warmly inscribed to fellow science fiction writer Reginald Bretnor and translator Helen (Harding) Bretnor, to whom the book is jointly dedicated. 7.5'' x 5''. Original red cloth stamped in white. In original unclipped ($2.95) dust jacket designed by Vera Bock. 180 pages. Inscribed by Anderson on front free endpaper: "For Reg & Helen Bretnor - in red ink - in memory of Lord knows how much red ink - Poul Anderson." Mild page toning, light edgewear and one small closed tear to dust jacket.
