Signature of former owner on front [John Fatula, Philadelphia architect]; title page (first sheet) pulled away from rest of text but adhered to cover.). Glossy white wraps with color image and aqua lettering. Decorative end papers. 75 pp. with bw photos and duotone line drawings throughout. 1 foldout illustration. Small, local newspaper from 1966 laid in with an article about this gateway project. The outline of this monumental project, prepared for the Department of Commerce of the City of Philadelphia, by Geddes, Brecher, Qualls, Cunningham Architect/Planners; James C. Buckley Industrial and Transportation Consultants; and The Ballinger Company, Architects/Engineers. Full of architectural drawings, archival bw photographs, models, maps, and more. This amazing project has transformed the city and continues to be enhanced with new hotels, visitor sites, and more. The SS United States is docked there, hoping to be rehabiliated into the great ship it once was. A fascinating study!
