Covers the New York draft riots, the railroad riots of Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, and much other unpleasantness. Headley was a popular 19th-century author, known most for his book on the Adirondack Mountains. Condition of this book: Boards worn, rubbed at edges, front hinge cracked. Free front endpaper lacking, scattered minor foxing and staining, overall sound. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
