Avec des portraits et fac-similes de dessins et pages de carnets inedits. 16 plates including portrait frontispiece. 130, [2] pp. 7.5 x 5.5 inches. French language. This copy is from the collection of French and Romance Language specialist Reino Virtanen (1910-1987). Virtanen taught at the University of Nebraska from 1954 to 1978 and was a guest professor at UCLA. He was the author of several books, including "The Scientific Analogies of Paul Valery." He purchased this book while on a research sabbatical in Paris during the summer of 1962.
