New York: American Committee for Cultural Freedom, Publisher, 1948. Wraps. Good. Printed wraps. A long running little magazine focusing on art, literature and politics, that during the 1950s and 60s, was supported by funds from the CIA through its front, The American Committee for Cultural Freedom. This issue with "Literature an Communism," by Jean-Paul Sartre; "Over 2,000 Illustrations," a poem by Elizabeth Bishop; "A Portrait of the Hipster," by Anatole Broyard, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy browning, with the spine heavily toned. Minor creasing. Some soiling and staining to the covers. Owner's name in ink on the upper front cover.
