About This Item
John Murray, 1958. 1st edition. Hardcover. Original dark green boards with spine lettering and front decoration in gilt in excellent condition, as are the pages and endpapers, ie no foxing or markings at all, in a fine dustjacket, very clean white rear panel, not price-clipped, just tiny repairs to spine ends. Illustrated by Osbert Lancaster. Altogether, an extremely nice copy of the first impression of this classic satire on the workings of administration and bureaucracy, scarce in this condition.
