About This Item
London: Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1949. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 7.5" by 5.5". Not Stated. A first edition, first impression of Daphne du Maurier's novel concerning the Delaney family, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. The first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. The Parasites (1949) is a novel by the notable English author Daphne du Maurier. It follows the Delaneys, a bohemian family, who lead complex and often scandalous lives. Du Maurier took inspiration from her time in the world of theatre and from her own family life. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is smart but faded to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Dust wrapper remains mostly bright, with chipping to the head and tail of the spine, which has been amateurly repaired with tape. Sunning to the spine of the wraps, with a few marks to the front of the wraps. Very Good Indeed
