THE FIRST VOLUME IS A PRESENTATION COPY, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR TO GEORGE HEYWOOD HILL AND LADY ANNE GATHORNE-HARDY. First two volumes with dustwrappers by Angelica Garnett. The set comprises A Pacifist's War. [Diary 1939-1945] (1978); Everything to Lose. Diaries 1945-1960 (1985); Hanging On. Diaries 1960-1963 (1990); Other People. Diaries 1963-1966 (1993); Good Company. Diaries 1967-1970 (1994); Life Regained. Diaries 1970-1972 (1998); Ups and Downs. Diaries 1972-1975 (2001). Evocative and often hilarious diaries from the last remaining member of the Bloomsbury Group. George Heywood Hill and Lady Anne Gathorne-Hardy (later his wife) founded the London bookshop which bears his name. A SPLENDID ASSOCIATION SET.
