First edition. 8vo. 0riginal cloth, titles in copper gilt on the front cover, advertisements on front and rear endpapers, xvi, 264 pp., plus xvii - xxv of advertisements, introductory, illustrated, advertisements. Provides much information on the San Francisco Stock and Exchange Board, its constitution and by-laws, and biographical sketches of its members. Information is provided on bullion and money including the silver dollar, the silver bill, and the co-relation of gold and silver. Reviews the Central and Southern Pacific Railroads and their benefit to the state, the Sutro Tunnel, mines and milling, the discovery of gold in California, and a complete list of the live mines of the Pacific coast. Small library stamp of the University of Wyoming on first two pages and to the page-edges, cosmetic touch-up to the spine and corners, original spine replaced and internal front and rear hinges reinforced, else a very good, tight copy.
