Softcover/VG; sound w/light edge & surface wear. creasings to upper front corner & fading to spine. An vivid autobiography, and, biography of a New England house built in the dunes of Cape Cod, Eastham, Massachussts. Author, Quncy-born naturalist Henry Beston (1888- 1968), who served for years as an honorary editor to the Audubon Magazine. First published 1928; this is a Penguin reprint of 1984 w/a 1949 Foreword by author. Records of a season spent at a 20lX16 beach cottage, built in 1925 to Beston's buildings planss. In this house Beston lived alone for a year. The house came to be known as The Outmost House. Donated to the MA Audobon Soc., designated 1959 as a Natil Literary Landmark before being reclaimed by the sea in 1978. Beston's words remain.
