VG/Good-VG. 15 Cm x 22.5 Cm. xxii+456+8(pub.list), 10 text figs inc.1 plate; eminent historian of science R.M.Young's dated sig.top fr.free endpaper, 2 faint old pencilled price-markings and 5 sm.ink squiggles fr.pastedown, rear endpaper facing pastedown half browned facing wraparound, otherwise internally clean, tight & now unmarked, although v.faint traces of erased pencil marking may remain; excellent clean, bright virtually unworn covers; scarce jacket unclipped, sl.sp.fading, edges & extremeties sl.rubbed, but clean with no significant damage. This 4th ed. is probably the fullest complete statement of McDougall's 'Hormic' Psychology, in which he attempts to take Gestalt Psychology and Freud into account, the extensive treatment of instinct and emotion updates his important earlier account in 'Introduction to Social Psychology'. Not uncommon but scarce in such good condition and with jacket.
