Scarce later title (#22) in the 23-book series that thrilled & inspired girls at the beginning of the 20th century (1913-1933), allowing readers to vicariously experience the adventures of the "Tramping and Camping Club" of the girls in "Deepdale" New York that they were often denied them in real life. In 213 pages + ads for other Whitman children's titles in rear. Orig. published in 1932 by Grosset & Dunlap, this is the First Printing from Whitman (#2325, First, thus), n.d. besides copyright. Hardcover 8vo has light green cloth-covered boards stamped with black lettering to front & spine. Condition is VG: very clean, Binding strong & straight but rear hinge is cracked. Pages are off-white & tanned, quite heavily around edges; former owner's name in pen inside front cover, else unmarked. Virtually no edgewear save for slightly bumped corners. The unclipped DJ is also VG- (minus): colorful & bright with moderate rubbing to extremities, ffep is loosening, but intact; text block secure. Pages heavily tanned & somewhat brittle. Former owner's name & date to ffep; else unmarked. The unclipped DJ is also VG-: bright & colorful, with rubbing/small holes/chips to extremities; nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
