First edition; 7 3/4 x 5; pp. [4], 5-122 + several blank leaves interspersed throughout for manuscript notes/recipes; oilcloth over boards, with an additional flap to back board, which encloses the text block; covers with various advertisements for Minnesota businesses; illustrated with numerous ads with engravings and photographs; age-toning and a few spots to cloth; wear to tips of spine and corners; cloth cracking along spine and back flap; in about very good- condition.Possibly custom-bound and distributed as a complimentary gift by the Northern Steamship Company, the book contained a veritable array of recipes for meats, soups, desserts, sandwiches and teas, etc., many of which were, according to the editors, "not to be found in any other book of receipts."
