xvi+810 pages with maps, photographs illustrations, facsimiles, tables, charts and index. Royal octavo (9 3/4" x 6 2") bound in original publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine with red stripe to spine and cover in original jacket. Fourth printing.
Edgar P. Snow was an American journalist known for his books and articles on Communism in China and the Chinese Communist revolution. He is believed to be the first Western journalist to interview Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong, and is best known for Red Star Over China (1937) an account of the Chinese Communist movement from its foundation until the late 1930s.
Condition: Corners bumped, light edge wear. Jacket edges with chips, closed tears and creases, spine head chipped else very good in like jacket.
